The hidden gems of fashion.

Below is a snapshot of just a few personal projects related specifically to Fashion and garments.

Hat designs throughout the pages of history were displaying a cultural value - grieving, belonging, wealth, power, class associations, and signature self-expressive accessory piece.

The main functions of headgear include protection, status and class associations, element of self - expression, for some - a tool to deflect from a public eye, and what intrigues me - a symbol of play and curiosity! I was always inspired by the art of Millinery, and impressed by the designs of Stephen Jones - one of the most iconic hat designers in the history of fashion. Fashion research and writing is like a yoga practice for me.

I also collect Fashion literature, global issues of Fashion Magazines,

and am a Fashion Collector for over 20 years.

Madame Gres Exhibition at SCAD Fashion Museum, 2023.

I created an EMPOWEAR framework as a backbone of my personal Changeing Room Project. Each of the letters of the EMPOWEAR word has a deeper meaning in reference to garments.

E - enjoyable

M - multidimensional

P - powerful

O - objective

W- wearable

E - expressive

A- adaptive

R- right for me

I apply this framework in personal projects and also used it to create a Workshop at Atlanta Cancer Society Hope Lodge in 2025 that I organized. The workshop focused on the multidimensional aspect of clothing  and adaptive  garments, and provided a guidance on how to use garments in various configurations, and relay the story through the power of clothing.
